Spit Game

Spit Game Picture

Spit Game is a competitive sport. The purpose of the competition is to give competitors the opportunity to demonstrate and develop fundamental skills in public speaking. Competitors should be encouraged to believe that entering the competition is an achievement in itself, and that their public dialogue is a genuine contribution to the community and to free speech.

Spit: freestyling or spitting is the improvisation of rapped lyrics. Therefore, freestyles with proven spontaneity are valued above generic, always usable lines. The emphasis here is on spontaneity and quick thinking.

Game: anything resembling a game, as in requiring skill, endurance, or adherence to rules: the game of diplomacy

Spit Game [Debating Society] is a competition featuring speeches on topical themes chosen by competitors from a list of titles. It is a team sport: debates are won and lost by teams, not by individuals. It is a subtle art. It involves competing with a team on your side, without appearing to disagree with them. Positions are allocated on a random basis; teams do not choose the side of the debate they are on. Often this will lead to speaking in favour of things you don't believe in, and against those that you do
